Due to popular demand and the chlorine shortage, Sun Shock may be hard to find. You may consider getting two of the mini-ionizer if we are out-of-stock.

No harmful chemicals in the water. No bleached hair and bathing suits. Just water.

This solar water purifier protects  by transforming your water into biologically healthy and algae-resistant mineral water. Using a safe and effective low power output, the Remington Solar water purifier acts as a trickle charger to generate ions from the sunlight. Works great in either salt-water or non-salt water pool systems! Enjoy swimming in the clearest, cleanest, softest water imaginable, without the unpleasant smell or taste of chlorine!

The Remington Solar Pool Sun Shock water purifier is the only purifier that, in addition to generating beneficial mineral ions, collects undesirable minerals such as calcium and iron. This has the effect of softening your water

Would you spend $149 to save $300-$500 in chlorine costs? AND give your baby, your family, and yourself the gift of clean, pure, algae-free pool water.

Seriously. We guarantee it.

So you’ve done some research on these “solar copper pool ionizers” right? And you’ve probably read some reviews, and you’re still a bit skeptical. (You should be.)

Here’s the deal, they do work, but you may be wondering why some are priced high and some low. Here’s what to look out for: Some of the cheap imports will fall apart after a month or two. We’re not kidding. So customers write their reviews within the first few weeks, then the units sink (for real) or degrade quickly in the following months.

Also, another big thing is copper quality. You can go on Ebay right now and search “Remington Solar solar ionizer” and you’ll see dozens of companies selling “Remington Solar”. Guess what? They’re all fakes. No one sells our product except for a few major online retailers….but not on Ebay. We even had someone try to return a used “copper” anode that was actually painted zinc. And if you have questions, you can always email support@remingtonsolar.com and watch how fast Jocelyn gets back to you!

The sacrificial mineral electrode is designed to slowly erode away, and in the process will form a scale buildup which will require occasional cleaning. One Sun Shock (per 22,000 gallons or less pools) will keep your pool clear. (You will need 2 if your pool is above 22k gallons). Similar to the Floatron product, Remington Solar has duplicated this cutting edge technology at a price that makes sense. Reduce your chlorine consumption by as much as 80%.

While Chemical-Free Sun Shock is extremely effective keeping your pool crystal clear, we recommend using a small (2 to 3 parts per million) of sanitizer to keep your pool microbe-free. You may still use small quantities of chlorine, bromine, or other non-chlorine sanitizer. It’s the large expensive quantities of chlorine that you no longer need to keep your pool crystal clear. FAQs

Swimming pool ionizers use solar energy to keep your pool water clean and safe to swim in without chlorine usage. They do so by slowly releasing copper and silver ions over time, which kill algae and bacteria in pool water just like chlorine. This makes it possible to keep your pool at its best without harsh chemicals or chlorine usage and the frequent reapplications they require.

A swimming pool ionizer can also substantially reduce your pool maintenance costs. When you don’t have to regularly buy and apply pool chemicals, your annual pool-cleaning bill can drop to virtually nothing. Plus, solar pool ionizers are reasonably priced and last for several years, making them a single upgrade that can keep your pool looking great for multiple seasons with crystal clear water.

You can hire someone to install your solar ionizer or do it yourself. They’re typically placed on the pool’s return line, which is after the pump, filter, and heater. But there is some flexibility, so pool owners may be able to install theirs another way if that’s their preference.

A solar-powered pool ionizer may be able to replace all of the chlorine that you use today. It depends on factors like the quality of the ionizer you buy and your pool’s filtration system. You may still need to use a small amount of chlorine to keep your swimming pool at its best.

If you’re looking for a more personalized answer based on your pool, it may be time to contact a pool care professional. They can provide individualized answers about how much chlorine you’d need to use, the installation process, and other factors that could impact your decision. But beware, many professionals don’t like solar copper pool ionizers because they can no longer sell you chemicals. It’s not in their interest to advise you on a pool ionizer because it puts them out of a job.

That being said, it’s absolutely possible to replace all of the harmful chemicals you use with an ionizer. You may just need to do some research to find the right products for your setup. Contact us at Remington Solar if you’d like help with that process.

You can use the original Remington Solar Pool Ionizer on any swimming pool up to 25,000 gallons. That covers most home pools in the United States, as the average size ranges between 15,000 and 30,000 gallons of water.

If you have a pool that’s significantly smaller than that, you should consider Remington Solar’s Mini Ionizer instead. It’s designed for pools that hold 10,000 gallons of water or less. Plus, it’s more affordable than the fully powered model, and there’s no reason to spend extra.

It may be tempting to try the Original Remington Solar Pool Ionizer on a small pool, but doing so can cause issues. For example, oversized ionizers tend to create excessive buildups of copper. This can cause stains on your pools, reduce the effectiveness of the product, and even turn your hair green after swimming. To avoid this from happening, choose a solar pool ionizer that’s sized appropriately for your pool.

Whether you have a 2,500-gallon pool or 25,000 gallons, you’ll need to clean your ionizer regularly to keep it operating at peak efficiency. That means cleaning it at least once per month. You may need to do so more frequently if you live in a dusty area that makes your pool dirty faster than average.

Thankfully, the cleaning process is easy. Just take a wire brush or some steel wool and clean the copper anode by brushing it while wet. Your ionizer will also have a basket containing the copper anode, which should be cleared of debris regularly.

Cleaning is an important part of getting the value you expect from your solar pool ionizer. It reduces buildup on the copper anode, which will decrease performance if left unchecked. Plus, if too much debris accumulates in the basket, it can reduce the effectiveness of the whole system.

There are no special tools or chemicals you need to complete the cleaning process — just a simple wire brush. That makes the process easy enough to do on your own if you want to save money on maintenance. But you can also always ask your pool-cleaning professional to maintain an ionizer if that’s easier.
